There's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition... unless it becomes an obsession!

I know this guy who I see and talk to on a pretty regular basis & just recently we exchanged gamer tags. "NEFARIOUSLORD J" is a very cool guy, and we share a LOT of the same opinions regarding gaming.... Well, after adding him to my Xbox Live friends list, I heard through the grape vine that he's pretty unhappy with me. Apparently he had the highest gamer score out of everyone on his XBL friends list, until he added me. [insert sinister laugh here] (He even sent me a message through live to say "I'm coming for you!") Our gamer scores are extremely close, so it shouldn't take long for him to catch up, then surpass mine.... but I'm not sure I can let that happen.

For some reason, I had plenty of free time on my hands at home to get into Lost Planet lsat week. While I was playing I saw that he was online, so I decided to compare my achievements with "NEFARIOUSLORD J" and noticed that he was on mission three while I was on mission seven; I also noticed that I made sure to collect all of the Target Marks during a mission before moving on, while he did not. I decided to take a break from Lost Planet and complete my final UNO achievement, but while in the middle of a round I realized that it was almost 3 AM so I decided to get some sleep. The next dat at work I looked at latest progress, and I saw that he had played UNO and completed the same achievement I was going for.... I immediately fired up UNO, knocked the final achievement out, then popped in Lost Planet. Just before inserting Lost Planet I saw that "NEFARIOUSLORD J" had made it to level five and had begun collecting Target Marks... I was now forced to complete the game & collect the remaining Target Marks along the way.

I haven't had much free time over the past day or two, so I'm watching "NEFARIOUSLORD J" quickly close the gap between our gamer scores.

I don't get it.. I've got several people on my Xbox Live friends list who have FAR higher gamer scores than mine, yet I don't have the desire to play every game I own, all over again, just to squeeze the last few achievement points out of them... but now that I heard about my friend being obsessed with having the highest gamer score on his friends list, I find myself staying up FAR too late trying to increase my score, and thinking about achievement points all day at work.... now I’m beginning to wonder... who really has the obsession? Am I obsessed with staying ahead of him, or is he more obsessed with surpassing me?

Maybe I should just play Wario Ware on my Wii and let him catch up.... hmm... Wario Ware is a pretty awesome game, but I'm not sure I have it in me to just let someone win.

Pac-Man Fever!

Woo Hoo... I've just added two more games to the "Perfect Achievements" list; Pac-Man & Ms.Pac-Man!

I'm not sure what came over me today. For some strange reason, in the middle of playing Lost Planet, I had the sudden urge to play some Pac-Man. I went to the Xbox Live Arcade and noticed Ms. Pac-Man was available, so I downloaded it... I'm not sure what caused it, but I was 'in the zone' and I knocked out all of the achievements in no time at all.... so I went back and finished up Pac-Man. The "Perfect" achievement had me so frustrated when Pac-Man was first released that I gave up for a while. (The "Perfect" achievement is "Eat all ghosts four times within a stage!")

Well, now that I've knocked those games out, it's back to Lost Planet. I really like Lost Planet, but for some reason it keeps locking up on me every time I play Mission 7... Oh well, maybe this time it'll work.

20,000 points & counting...

Woah... I didn't even realize how close I was to a gamer score of 20,000 points... After playing a few more hours of Tony Hawk's Project 8 today I looked up and noticed I had broken the 20k mark. (By the way, Tony Hawk's Project 8 is making my eyes bleed!!)

I don't think I'll ever finish all of the achievements for THP8; it's extremely frustrating and the 'sick' goals get me so mad that I sometimes want to borrow the PS3 and play Resistance: Fall of Man... Well, maybe not THAT mad... but close.

Anyway, I've got to pack my junk up and head for home.... I'll probably post some other random stuff later tonight.

16,000 Points & Saint's Row + Cheats

I finally opened my copy of Madden NFL 06 and finished all of the Achievements; that added a quick 1000 points to my gamer score and put me over my 16,000 point goal! It doesn't seem that long ago when I was playing every game I could get my hands on just to break the 10,000 point mark... Now I have 12 games on my "Perfect Achievements" list!

There are far too many good games available for the 360 right now. Dead Rising, Fight Night: Round 3, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, Hitman: Blood Money, Prey are my top picks right now. All of 'em are phenomenal games, yet for some reason I haven't found time to complete all of the achievements and get the points. It sucks! Not only does it suck that I don't have enough time to fully enjoy all of these games / earn all of the achievements, but now I have another game to add to the "MUST PLAY THIS GAME" list... Saint's Row. It's awesome & it came out today!!!

What a dilemma. I need more time in my day… Do I finish Dead Rising, have fun with Saint’s Row, or go back and finish the achievements for all of the other games I have? (I still haven’t even open Chromehounds, Top Spin 2, & Oblivion!!)

About Saint's Row: I don't give a crap about any reviews, magazine articles, retail employee, or GTA fan-boy opinions about this game... It's AWESOME! I like the Grand Theft Auto series a great deal, but Saint's Row has officially dethroned it in my household. I’ve officially dubbed Saint’s Row as the GTA killer for Xbox 360; until I see what GTA 4 has in store for me. The "Insuarce Fraud" & "Mayhem" missions alone make this game worth the $60.00. Who knew? I too thought it would be a lame GTA clone, even after playing the demo. Now, after playing the full retail version of the game, I know the demo wasn't 1/2 the fun as the real game; plus there's soooooo much more to do in the retail version.

One of my favorite things to do is drive around the 'hood' looking for billboards, posters, signs, and vehicle that have phone numbers on them. If you call these numbers different things happen.... here's everything found so far.
(xJACKASS used the demo version and gave me a hand with these.)

P.S.
All of the Xbox 360 Live Vision cameras I had for sale are now gone... it's amazing. As you know, one of 'em went to my Xbox Live buddy xJACKASS, and the others sold for $95.00 on eBay!!! (Loads of people were tellimg me to sell them for more, but $95.00 + $10.00 shipping - eBay and PayPal fees still raked in almost 3 times what I paid for them!!!) Now I just need to transfer the cash over to my checking account and then put the money towards the credit card I used to pay for our wedding rings.

Now it's time to set another goal... hmm, what should it be??..... 15,000? ...... 20,000? At this point it doesn't really matter, sleep is far more important to me right now... as of 1:36 AM I've officially surpassed my 10,000 Gamer Point goal by 118 points & I go to bed a happy camper!!

Achievement & GP Addiction.

It's a sickness I tell ya.. I can't help it.. I'm sure I'll end up on some couch in a psychologists office explaining to him/her how "The Gamer Points made me do it!!!!"

After finally finishing up T.H.A.W. and realizing the Rumble Roses XX is going to take me forever, I decided to take a look at the games I own and try to squeeze every gamer point possible out of them before starting another one! I FINALLY finished up Full Auto today, so I'll probably trade it in or stick it in my closet for the next few years.... I'm sick of it... but as I said, I'm addicted to the Achievements and Gamer Points so I HAD to play it.

Next up is Blazing Angels, Fight Night Round 3, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter!!!

Congratulations Micro$oft... you've created something as addictive as the tobacco industry; although the 360 is far less disgusting & deadly!
