I'm not quite sure what caused it, but I suddenly found myself searching all over for any information I could regarding the movie, toys, or any other tidbit of news relating to the Transformers... not the Beastwars or Energon garbage either; I'm talking about the real Optimus Prime / Megatron generation 1 stuff!

If you're a child of the 80's, and a bit of a geek like myself, you're most likely a fan of The Transformers. If so, you'll have a 'nerdgasm' when you see the new line of toys or read about the live action movie scheduld for a July 4th release (2007).

It's hard to find any REAL news or 'leaked' video footage of the Transformers live action movie, but it's so much fun scouring the web and reading all of the unconfirmed stuff. By far, one of my favorite 'unconfirmed' / fan videos was done by 3dblasphemy; it's an amazing transformation video of an Optimus Prime with variant color.

Some other videos I've found were a leaked transformation test from the upcoming Transformers live action movie, a UK commercial for a Citroen C4 that transforms then dances, and an old video of a white Volkswagen beetle transforming. I even found an amusing mock story on www.theonion.com that I found amusing.

Transformer Refuses To Change Back Into Volkswagen:

"CYBERTRON—Following an intense battle with Megatron and his evil Decepticons Monday, former robot-in-disguise Bumblebee refused to revert to his natural state as a yellow Volkswagen Beetle. "I hid my existence in this world by taking the form of a vehicle! I revealed my true nature when I was called upon to protect earth!" said Bumblebee, a member of Optimus Prime's heroic Autobots force. "I refuse to change back into a humiliating bubble-shaped compact car!" Bumblebee added that Megatron arrived on earth with one goal: Destruction!"

Transformers - NEW TOYS:

"Available in November 2006, the new series of figures will feature updated versions of the first generation of TRANSFORMERS (or “G1”), inspired by the look and spirit of the original figures and characters. The line will include favorites from the original series: OPTIMUS PRIME, Bumblebee, Astrotrain and Megatron – which will be represented as a blaster for the first time since the 1980’s."

Starscream will retail for $9.99 and the larger transformers, such as Megatron and Optimus Prime, should retail for $19.99; available in November (2006).
